Hi Roger Saw your work for the first time yesterday at the Hayrack Gallery. I was blown away by your use of perspective and colour. I have recently taken up watercolour painting with no previous experience or tuition in art. I love the medium and particularly using the colours. Do you run any workshops?

jacqueline jones, at 24 June, 2017, 9:15pm

Where can I find information about the courses you run? There was one shown on the web site while I was looking at the warwickshire open studios. Thank you

Steve Nickless, at 07 February, 2016, 6:37pm

Hello Roger, just picked up "Green Lanr" from the RBSA. We love your fresh, unusual landscapes. Thanks.

Annie Munton, at 01 September, 2015, 11:31am

Hi Roger, just purchased Baldersdale, Co Durham and From Eyam Edge in Derbyshire. Love your interpretations of landscape. I know Eyam Edge and the wooded cloughs and the high moor but I'm not familiar with Baldersdale. Do you have map references for both? Richard at Upper Stowe Gallery thought you would. Kind regards to you and Harlene. M not familiar with

Dear Roger and Harlene, We are back in the States but so wanted to express thankfulness for your generosity is sharing your home with us on our visit. Inviting 6 crazy Americans into your home was such a lovely gesture and very much appreciated! Thanks you again.

It was good to speak to you in the swimming pool this morning. As advised, I decided to have a look at your website. I love the work! I also looked at the Royal Birmingham Artists' Society and I will try and get in next year. Thanks for your advice.

Tansi Harper, at 06 August, 2014, 8:34pm

It was great meeting you especially after buying" Dartmoor farm" , so lovely to have you take us through how you created it. I am really looking froward to hanging it at home after your exhibition in Market Harborough

Tracie Stewart, at 04 April, 2013, 12:34am

Hi Roger I saw your link thru the landscape painters group. I like your work. Especially the piece on the home page. The sky with stars is really lovely. Thank you Tracie

Charlee, at 28 February, 2013, 4:43am

Hi Roger. Thank you so much for sharing your inspirational art work. I am a mature age art student in Perth Western Australia and I am just starting out on a project aiming to paint contemporary watercolour landscape that includes the geology of the site.....your Monsal Dale Heritage piece is wonderful. Again thank you.

Mary Hartley, at 24 January, 2013, 12:22pm

Hello Roger I love your pictures. I come from Saddleworth in Yorkshire so the one of Diggle was very interesting to me. I think your style is fascinating and as a very amateur water colourist myself I wish I could come up with a style that had such impact as yours.

Hilary Millar, at 15 November, 2012, 12:29pm

I have just bought your Lanzarote 2 - really love it as I know Lanzarote well - couldn't find anything in Lanzarote like this!

Neil Hindhaugh, at 20 April, 2012, 8:30pm

Roger, I do like the style that you have developed and look forward to seeing more of your work. Particularly enjoyed those based upon the Durham countryside, as a north-eastern lad who lived near Bishop Auckland for a while. Regards, Neil

David R. Vallejo, at 11 April, 2012, 5:15pm

Roger - Thanks for following me on Twitter. I took a quick peek at your website and I really love your work. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Brian Hemmings, at 09 February, 2012, 7:25pm

Hi Roger, Just wanted to say I've looked at the site and really like your work. When we meet we could discuss a West Haddon piece?

Ken Drabinsky, at 21 October, 2011, 10:30pm

Lovely renditions of landscape/terrain...I will be sending a note on LinkedIn however would just like to comment that there seems to be a renewed interest in sketching landscape, photography and painting on canvas to incorporate geological landscapes. I encourage this approach and perhaps get a real feel for the intricacies of landscape by talking to local geologists who are passionate about the geological history and who can 'romance' the geology to the general public. (you may haved already done so!) If you have ever attended a geological conference these days the latest trend is Geology and Art. I am personally fascinated by how the early explorers utilized sketch and diagrams by hand to represent the geological sections they encountered!!! Hope to discuss further... Best Regards, Ken A. Drabinsky

Just hung yesterday's purchase 'Hey Farm Wardlow Peak District' from the The Art Barn at The Old Rectory, Preston Bagot near Henley in Arden and I love it! I have been looking for a piece that fits with a Friedensreich Hundertwasser for about 5 years, and this is it! Love your interpretation of scenery and great watercolour work, each time I look at it I can see further into the landscape. Thanks! Linda

Lynne, at 26 March, 2011, 2:05pm

I like your style - as the saying goes! Very reminiscent of earlier works by Nick Potter, which can only be good. Love the fluidity and flow of your colours and you really make the most of the wonderful qualities of water colours. Would be very interested to know if you have ever painted a Dartmoor scene. Keep up the good work.

Stephen Middleton, at 29 October, 2010, 7:17am

Saw your 3 paintings at RSPB, Birmingham on Tuesday. Brilliant inventive stuff. Will look to find an opportunity to buy one.

miki , at 17 August, 2010, 4:32pm

Hi Roger, I saw some of your paintings on, and I must say that that I was very impressed. It is rare to see such an extremely personal style, and at the same time so appealing, above all in watercolour. I wished you would share more of them with us there!

mathilde stein, at 23 February, 2010, 4:09pm

Hi Roger, I just wanted to thank you for the nice workshop you staged at the RBSA yesterday. Very inspiring! I'm saving up to buy one of your paintings, so I'll keep a keen eye on your website. Thanks again and lots of good luck with your work - it will be great to see how you're painting is going to develop still further over the coming years! Mathilde Stein

Andy Medcraft, at 24 January, 2009, 5:10pm

I drag myself around a lot of exhibitions but have to say that your work stands head and shoulder above the rest. It really does apeal to me and I'd be proud to hang your work on my wall - I don't think I've said that about anybody else! Keep inspired and keep inspiring.

David Tucker, at 22 January, 2009, 3:10pm

I have an original Roger Griffiths watercolour of Looe harbour, Cornwall painted as a wedding present for me in 1968. Is his early work worth anything? If so I might flog it as I\'m about to build a summer room and so I need the money! Wonderful website Roger populated by inspirational scenes. Our \'Geography of Landscape\' lectures by the inspirational Jay Appleton at Hull University obviously had a more artistic impact on you than they did on me. I walk it, read it and teach it and you paint it. Suzane and I will try to make your November exhibition in Rugby. And if there is an opening night with free booze we\'ll definitely be there. Best wishes, David
