An impressive collection of work.

Expressive and evocative, vivid and moody: Roger captures the essence of the scene.

I’m struggling to decide which of several paintings I will buy.

Some lovely pieces and do let us know if you come to north Wales, Snowdonia as I would definitely be interested in a piece as I have yet to purchase! Well done.

Marcia

Yes.   Simply sublime distillation of landscapes.  As delicate and refined as cut glass reflecting the colours of nature through prisms of time.  Highly accomplished work.

Hi Roger, just purchased Baldersdale, Co Durham and From Eyam Edge in Derbyshire. Love your interpretations of landscape. I know Eyam Edge and the wooded cloughs and the high moor but I’m not familiar with Baldersdale. Do you have map references for both? Richard at Upper Stowe Gallery thought you would. Kind regards to you and Harlene. M not familiar with

Your acrylic paintings are delicious and watercolours dreamy – I’m very much looking forward to discussing my commission ideas further with you and have your colourful work popping against the dark blue of my stairs wall soon.

Hi Roger Saw your work for the first time yesterday at the Hayrack Gallery. I was blown away by your use of perspective and colour. I have recently taken up watercolour painting with no previous experience or tuition in art. I love the medium and particularly using the colours. Do you run any workshops?

Margaret

Hello Roger, just picked up “Green Lane” from the RBSA. We love your fresh, unusual landscapes. Thanks.

It was great meeting you especially after buying” Dartmoor farm” , so lovely to have you take us through how you created it. I am really looking froward to hanging it at home after your exhibition in Market Harborough

Hi Roger I saw your link thru the landscape painters group. I like your work. Especially the piece on the home page. The sky with stars is really lovely. Thank you Tracie

Hi Roger. Thank you so much for sharing your inspirational art work. I am a mature age art student in Perth Western Australia and I am just starting out on a project aiming to paint contemporary watercolour landscape that includes the geology of the site…..your Monsal Dale Heritage piece is wonderful. Again thank you.

Hello Roger I love your pictures. I come from Saddleworth in Yorkshire so the one of Diggle was very interesting to me. I think your style is fascinating and as a very amateur water colourist myself I wish I could come up with a style that had such impact as yours.

I have just bought your Lanzarote 2 – really love it as I know Lanzarote well – couldn’t find anything in Lanzarote like this!

Hilary

Roger, I do like the style that you have developed and look forward to seeing more of your work. Particularly enjoyed those based upon the Durham countryside, as a north-eastern lad who lived near Bishop Auckland for a while. Regards, Neil

Lovely renditions of landscape/terrain…I will be sending a note on LinkedIn however would just like to comment that there seems to be a renewed interest in sketching landscape, photography and painting on canvas to incorporate geological landscapes. I encourage this approach and perhaps get a real feel for the intricacies of landscape by talking to local geologists who are passionate about the geological history and who can ‘romance’ the geology to the general public. (you may haved already done so!) If you have ever attended a geological conference these days the latest trend is Geology and Art. I am personally fascinated by how the early explorers utilized sketch and diagrams by hand to represent the geological sections they encountered!!! Hope to discuss further… Best Regards

Ken

Just hung yesterday’s purchase ‘Hey Farm Wardlow Peak District’ from the The Art Barn at The Old Rectory, Preston Bagot near Henley in Arden and I love it! I have been looking for a piece that fits with a Friedensreich Hundertwasser for about 5 years, and this is it! Love your interpretation of scenery and great watercolour work, each time I look at it I can see further into the landscape. Thanks! Linda

Linda

I like your style – as the saying goes! Very reminiscent of earlier works by Nick Potter, which can only be good. Love the fluidity and flow of your colours and you really make the most of the wonderful qualities of water colours. Would be very interested to know if you have ever painted a Dartmoor scene. Keep up the good work.

Lynne

Hi Roger, I just wanted to thank you for the nice workshop you staged at the RBSA yesterday. Very inspiring! I’m saving up to buy one of your paintings, so I’ll keep a keen eye on your website. Thanks again and lots of good luck with your work – it will be great to see how you’re painting is going to develop still further over the coming years! Mathilde
