The moor lies on Millstone Grit, has been occupied since the Bronze Age and several old quarries reveal the geology. The Nine Ladies are standing stones of that era and the Cork Stone is an eroded pillar of sandstone with Victorian toe-holds 5 metres high.
Selected for the Rugby Open 2022/3, typical comment: Displaying the beauty of chaos with harmonious colour choices whilst showing the significance of change. Love it.
